Phishing Awareness.

Cybersecurity can feel complicated, but most attacks today are surprisingly simple. They don't rely on hacking. They rely on catching you distracted, rushed, or off guard. Phishing is a message, an email, text, or chat designed to trick you into clicking, approving, or sending something you shouldn't. And they're getting convincing. They can look like Microsoft, your bank, a vendor, IT, even your CEO. At first glance, completely normal. Three simple tricks make phishing work. Urgency. Act now, before you think. Authority. It's from the CEO, or IT. And familiarity. It looks like every other email in your inbox. Attackers are counting on you moving fast. Slow down. Before you click anything, just pause. Protect personal information. Passwords, payments, and MFA codes don't belong in emails. Avoid unknown links. Hover first to see where they actually go. Use caution with attachments. If you weren't expecting a file, don't open it. Scrutinize the sender. Addresses often look close to real, with one changed letter. And evaluate the urgency. Real requests don't demand secrecy or threats. Two reminders worth memorizing. Microsoft and IT will never ask for your password by email. And if your phone buzzes with an MFA prompt you didn't start, deny it. Every. Single. Time. When something feels off, four steps. Stop. Don't click yet. Think. Does this actually make sense? Verify. Call or message the sender through a channel you trust. Report. Use the report phishing button or forward it to IT. You will never get in trouble for reporting something suspicious. We'd rather investigate 10 false alarms than miss one real attack. Most successful attacks happen because someone was busy and moved too fast. 30 extra seconds to verify can prevent serious disruption for the whole company. Cybersecurity is everyone's job.
